Ingredients
¾cupchilled coffee
⅓cupalmond milkmore as needed
½mediumfrozen bananacut into 1 inch chunks/ about ½ a cup
1tbspalmond butter
1tbsphemp seeds
½cupicemore as needed
1-2tspmaple syrup or honeyoptional
crushed chocolate, coffee beans or cinnamonoptional, garnish
Instructions
Place the chilled coffee, frozen banana, almond butter, hemp seeds and almond milk into a high-speed blender. Blend until smooth.
Add the ice. Blend until mixture is icy smooth, similar to a slushy but not as thick. Add ice as needed.
Taste and add sweetener if needed.
Pour into a glass, add toppings if desired.
Enjoy immediately.
Notes
Coffee: I like to brew the coffee ahead of time and store it in the fridge. I make enough for 2-3 days in advance.Almond butter: I have used both peanut and tahini in this recipe and both worked well as far as flavour and consistency.Storage: This recipe is best consumed fresh, at most, it might last a few hours in the fridge. Once the ice melts the taste will be diluted.
