Easy Blended Coffee Frappe

You're going to love this easy blended coffee frappe. This cold drink is creamy, rich and perfectly sweet. It's so much more than just an iced coffee.

Ingredients

  • ¾ cup chilled coffee
  • cup almond milk more as needed
  • ½ medium frozen banana cut into 1 inch chunks/ about ½ a cup
  • 1 tbsp almond butter
  • 1 tbsp hemp seeds
  • ½ cup ice more as needed
  • 1-2 tsp maple syrup or honey optional
  • crushed chocolate, coffee beans or cinnamon optional, garnish

Instructions

  • Place the chilled coffee, frozen banana, almond butter, hemp seeds and almond milk into a high-speed blender. Blend until smooth.
  • Add the ice. Blend until mixture is icy smooth, similar to a slushy but not as thick. Add ice as needed.
  • Taste and add sweetener if needed.
  • Pour into a glass, add toppings if desired.
  • Enjoy immediately.

Notes

Coffee: I like to brew the coffee ahead of time and store it in the fridge. I make enough for 2-3 days in advance.
Almond butter: I have used both peanut and tahini in this recipe and both worked well as far as flavour and consistency.
Storage: This recipe is best consumed fresh, at most, it might last a few hours in the fridge. Once the ice melts the taste will be diluted.
