Toast with Whipped Cottage Cheese + Chia Seed Jam

I am a huge fan of all things toast. I think toast is the perfect breakfast, side, or snack. So many endless combinations of flavors and textures can fit on top of a simple piece of toast. My newest creation is this Toast with Whipped Cottage Cheese + Chia Seed Jam.

The base of this toast is creamy, rich whipped cottage cheese. I swear, the difference of whipping the cheese is night and day. If you are like me and don’t really like cottage cheese, try whipping it and give it a try. I promise it sounds more complicated than it is. Simply put, just put the cheese into a food processor and blend until airy smooth. I sometime like to add a pinch of salt, just because.

Now, on top of that airy cheese spread is my sweet 3- Ingredient Chia Seed Jam. Chia seeds are full of omega 3’s, fiber, and antioxidants. This chia seed jam is a healthy alternative to the store-bought versions, and in my opinion, it tastes far better.

Sometimes you just need something quick and easy, but still delicious. This Toast with Whipped Cottage Cheese + Chia Seed Jam is the perfect combination of the savory cheese and sweet jam on top crunchy toast is something you won’t soon forget.

Toast with Whipped Cottage Cheese + Chia Seed Jam

Homemade jam, naturally sweetened and packed with omega 3's. Served over protein-rich, whipped cottage cheese on top crunchy sourdough toast. A delicious combination of savory and sweet.

Ingredients

  • 2 slices sourdough toasted
  • 1 cup cottage cheese 2%
  • 4 tbsp chia seed jam** recipe in notes

Instructions

  • Add the cottage cheese to a food processor and blend until smooth. Set aside.
  • Meanwhile, place bread in toaster until golden.
  • Assemble the toast by diving cottage cheese mixture between each slice and top with 2-3 tablespoons of jam.
